Metabolic Balance is NOT a diet.  A ‘diet’ is a temporary activity where you are just waiting to get back to your normal life.  It feels like punishment.  This is NOT what Metabolic Balance is about!

Developed in Germany, Metabolic Balance is a 3-month program (average) designed to reset your body, which in turn naturally resets the hormones that regulate fat storage and the burning of fat. 

Weight loss is a nice side effect of a balanced metabolism.   

Our bodies produce too much insulin when we eat the wrong foods and especially when we eat too often or too much.  Insulin is the storage hormone that STOPS our body from accessing fat storage (and from burning fat).  When we keep our insulin levels low, we create more glucagon, which in turn tells the liver to start burning fat for energy.

Key to the success of the program is a blood test done at your local Quest Diagnostics to help determine which foods will work best with your body chemistry.

The 8 Rules for Success that every  participant follows includes a 5-hour gap between meals and not mixing protein in the same day.  Each type of protein only appears once daily in the meal plan.  This is important in order to avoid excess of over-acidified amino acids and to ensure that your body is transforming the highest amount of protein from food into body protein.

Depending on the amount of weight a client has to lose, the first 2 to 3 weeks can result in 14 pounds or more in weight loss.  A significant point to highlight is that this is NOT just water or lean muscle loss as with many diets, but includes fat loss! Metabolic Balance has been shown to increase the metabolic rate, rather than decrease it.

Your Metabolic Balance Program Includes:

Access To Your Own Health Coach:  You’ll have access to me (Stef) . . . your own certified Metabolic Balance® coach to support you from the comfort of your home!  I’ll provide you with accountability, direction, and support every step of the way to ensure you stay consistent in reaching your wellness goals.  Virtual Zoom (video) sessions make coaching convenient for you.  You will receive regular check-ins, practical tips and motivational advice to keep you on track!

Lab Testing:  The results of your blood test will form the foundations of your personal nutrition plan.  Blood is drawn at a local lab near you, such as at Quest Diagnostics, and is included in your program cost.  This is not a blood-typing diet!  This a plan that takes into consideration almost 40 different lab values to develop a custom food plan for you.

Custom Nutrition Plan:  You will receive your custom nutrition plan generated by our Metabolic Balance team in Germany.  Your plan will include only real, whole food that you purchase at your local grocery store.  There will be nothing ‘fake’ or proprietary to buy on this plan! You’ll find that it really is easy to change your diet when you have a wide variety of foods to choose.  There are always 8 important rules to follow to keep you on track. 

The 4 Phases of Metabolic Balance® 

PHASE 1:  CLEANSE.  The first 2 days of your plan are considered PHASE 1. This phase begins the process of detoxification and resting the digestive system. It is KEY in preparing your metabolism for balancing and reducing cravings as you move into the next phase.

PHASE 2:  STRICT.  For the first two weeks of this phase (at least) you must only eat the foods specified in your nutrition plan.  Most participants stay in Phase 2 for a minimum of 30 days before deviating from the plan in cases of special occasions or vacations.  It takes this long to build up your new healthy habits! You will remain in Phase 2 as long as you need to lose more weight or are working towards your wellness goals (i.e. better sleep, more energy, reduction in bloating, and more).  After the first 2 weeks in Phase 2, you will reintroduce oil into to your diet and a weekly treat’ meal (if desired).

PHASE 3:  RELAXED.  In this phase, additional foods will be added to your food lists and the amount of food you are eating will be increased. You will assess how you feel as you add in new foods, deciding which foods ‘work’ and which ‘do not work’ for you.  It is this phase of trial and error that helps you learn to sustain your weight loss and other wellness goals as you move into Phase 4 for life.

PHASE 4:  MAINTAIN.  This is the phase you can continue to experiment with the addition of even more foods as you get to know which foods are right for you (that are not on your food lists).  The goal is to be easing yourself away from your food plan, while still following most of the 8 Rules of Success regularly so that you maintain feeling and looking great!

I have my Master’s Degree in Public Health, am a Certified Health Education Specialist®, Metabolic Balance® Practitioner, and Licensed RESTART® Instructor. I’m passionate about health and wellness!

I am a  mom to 2 young children and to 3 rescue dogs.  Along with my husband, we run a very busy household!

I want to help others who have also been on a journey of trying to feel and look their best. After 15 YEARS of bouncing from doctor to doctor, carrying with me my growing binder of health records  just trying to get to the bottom of why I felt so horrible all the time, I went on a full-blown mission to help myself once and for all when I finally had had enough!  My big ‘aha’ moment was when I realized how critical REAL food is to feeling better!
